Real Madrid Responds Clearly About Joan García's Signing: 'We Will Talk...'

The Response to the Possible Transfer of Joan García Given by Real Madrid

One of the great sensations of this season in LaLiga is the goalkeeper, Joan García. Shining with Espanyol, the keeper has delivered performances that have put him on the radar of several clubs.

Barcelona is one of them, which is why Espanyol has offered the signing to Real Madrid.  Hansi Flick's team is not unaware of Szczęsny's continuity and they are looking for a future goalkeeper.

"We'll talk at the end of the season," was the response Real Madrid gave to this offer. Even with the quality the keeper has shown, the club already has Courtois and Lunin. If both remain with the team for the next season, Madrid is clear that they will not make a contract for Joan.

However, given the interest in Lunin, the Ukrainian might be tempted to leave Real Madrid in the next market. While Joan García has shown his talent throughout this season, Real Madrid has been sensible with their decision.

Madrid Has Responded

Playing his fourth season with Espanyol, Joan García has established himself as a great keeper. His superb performances have been the reason the club remains out of the relegation zone. However, whether or not he helps the team maintain the category, his departure is a strong possibility.

At 23 years old, Joan has a clause of 30M euros that can drop to 15M if Espanyol is relegated. A quite affordable value for a Real Madrid that prefers to be patient with this operation.

Even though Espanyol made it clear they are not looking to allow a move to Barcelona, his signing for Madrid is not clear. Given the importance Courtois still holds, Joan's arrival at Valdebebas depends on what the future holds for Lunin.

Joan García's Next Team

Among all the positions they seek to strengthen, the goal is one of the least important for Real Madrid. Even so, the club knows that everything can change during the market. Therefore, it will be necessary to wait a few months to witness Joan García's fate.
