Real Madrid say goodbye to this center-back who's signing with Bayern: it's not Tah
The Bayern Munich star is being targeted to strengthen their defense despite interest from Real Madrid
It is well known that during this summer transfer window, Real Madrid will look to strengthen their defense. After a season affected by injuries and underperformance, Real Madrid took a big step forward with the signing of Dean Huijsen. However, the signing of Bournemouth's center-back was not thought to be the only one.
For several months, Real Madrid have shown interest in signing Marc Guéhi. Crystal Palace's center-back had a great season, leading the club to win the FA Cup. With one season left on his contract, Madrid had made the necessary moves to be able to sign him and strengthen their defense.

However, Bayern Munich have moved ahead of Real Madrid's intentions and are close to signing Guéhi. Entering the phase of talks with the player, Bayern fully intend to steal one of Real Madrid's main targets.
Bayern's intention
At 24 years old, Marc Guéhi is one of the most solid center-backs in the entire Premier League. Although he is not part of one of England's biggest clubs, Guéhi has managed to stand out thanks to his excellent performance. Playing 4,299 yds. (3,931 m) this season, Guéhi showed his importance in Crystal Palace's system.
Despite this, Guéhi rejected all contract renewal offers because his intention is to make the jump to a more competitive team. This put him on Madrid's radar, with the club considering Guéhi a top-level center-back and a quality reinforcement for the defense.

Despite this, Bayern Munich have taken the lead just as they did with Jonathan Tah, who was linked to Real Madrid. After signing Tah on a free transfer, Bayern have a clear intention to frustrate Real Madrid's plans with Marc Guéhi.
Real Madrid's problem
Although Bayern are in talks with Guéhi, his signing has not yet been finalized by the Bavarian squad. This presents an opportunity for Real Madrid to convince Guéhi to become a Madridist and win the race for his transfer.
