Real Madrid Sent a Scout Not Just for Huijsen in Spain's Match
The objectives of the white team would go beyond the center-back now drafted with the Spanish national team
Real Madrid is taking considerable advantage, according to information published by various sports media, of this international break in March. The executives led by Florentino Pérez know they must make, at least, one signing to expand the resources in the central defense... to satisfy long-standing demands from Carlo Ancelotti.
But this addition wouldn't be made just to secure one of the most wanted reinforcements, and for a longer time, by the Reggiolo coach. It is also due to the lack of alternatives in the central position, a trend more than proven and verified during the season until the emergence of Raúl Asencio in the team.

In this context, the name that stands out now above the rest is Dean Huijsen. The Spanish center-back, although of Dutch origin, has received his first draft for the Spanish national team and enjoyed his first minutes as an international in the Netherlands-Spain match. His performance seems to have satisfied Luis de la Fuente, who counted on Huijsen as a replacement for the injured Íñigo Martínez.
But he is not the only center-back that the white sports management has been closely following according to information published by MARCA. Because the scouts led by Juni Calafat have not lost sight of a "familiar face" to the white leaders: the also Dutch center-back Jorrel Hato. This footballer project, now at Ajax Amsterdam, has been highly regarded by the white team for several months.
Another Candidate
So much so that he now definitively joins the possible list of players who might interest the Valdebebas offices to expand resources in the central defense. The white leaders have not yet made a decision regarding Jorrel Hato, but they will maintain significant "monitoring" like that of Dean Huijsen and others like William Saliba or Castello Lukeba.
The evolution of Jorrel Hato in the Netherlands-Spain match, which ended 2-2 at De Kuip, left mixed feelings in the white leadership. While it is true that Hato played out of his usual position, acting as a right-back to cover Lamine Yamal, he did not perform poorly... although the beginning and the end of the match were his worst moments on the field.

The white leaders, who took good note of his defensive effectiveness against one of the most notable strikers in European soccer elite, also remember that Jorrel Hato is 19 years old. The '4' of Ajax Amsterdam, while established at the top of the Eredivisie, is in constant development for the rest of the European soccer elite clubs.
This "duel" between both center-backs at De Kuip would have ended in favor of Dean Huijsen. At least for now, since the return leg of this Nations League quarter-final is still pending... and will be played in just one day, an ideal moment to analyze comparatively the performance of both defenders on another great occasion.
