Real Madrid's 2 Favorite Fullbacks for 2025-26, Two-Way Negotiation
Álvaro Carreras and Milos Kerkez are the two left-backs that the management likes. Miguel Gutiérrez in the pipeline
Real Madrid has already started planning for the 2025-26 season. One of the objectives is clear: to sign a new left-back.
Ferland Mendy has been injured again. He will be out for the entire season after falling in the Copa del Rey final against Barça. The injury to his right quadriceps also leaves him out of the Club World Cup.
Mario Cortegana confirmed it in The Athletic. The white defense is very depleted. Ancelotti only has Fran García as a natural left-back.
Carreras and Kerkez, the Favorites
According to Cortegana, Madrid is already working on two key names: Álvaro Carreras and Milos Kerkez.
He said it on Rubén Martín's Twitch channel:
"Real Madrid's interest in a left-back? They talk to me about Kerkez and Álvaro Carreras, but the one they talk to me about the most is Carreras".

Carreras, currently at Benfica, has a 50 million euro clause. He is young, talented, and very much liked in Valdebebas.
Meanwhile, Kerkez plays at Bournemouth. The English club signed him for 18.2 million euros. Now they are asking for more than triple. Additionally, Liverpool and Manchester City are also closely following him.
Delicate Situation in Defense
Mendy has played 31 matches this season, but his injury history remains concerning. Since his arrival in 2019, he has had constant physical problems.
Fran García doesn't fully convince either. The club expected more from his performance after his return from Rayo in 2023.

That's why Madrid is making moves. If a new left-back arrives this summer, one between Mendy and García will leave.
Another option that remains alive is Miguel Gutiérrez. The former Castilla player shines at Girona. Madrid included a buy-back clause for 8 million euros.
Real Madrid can't wait. There are few matches left, and the last Clásico will be on May 11.
The sports management is already working on negotiations. The objective is clear: to strengthen the left-back position as soon as possible.
Kerkez or Carreras. A two-way negotiation that will mark the next white market.
