Madrid's preseason: when will the team return to work and where will the training camp be
The squad is scheduled for the first week of August to carry out a preseason without tours, all in Valdebebas
Real Madrid already has a date to return to work. After closing the season with the demanding Club World Cup, the players are now enjoying their vacations, but the return is just around the corner.
The squad is scheduled for the first week of August. That's when the preseason will begin, a preparation that this year will be shorter than usual due to the tight schedule.
Xabi Alonso has given the green light to a lighter plan. There won't be an international tour, nor any major friendlies confirmed for now. The priority is to arrive in top form for the LaLiga debut.
Everything in Valdebebas
The summer training camp will take place in Valdebebas because the coaching staff wants to work without distractions. No flights, no travel. Everything focused on tactics and physical training.
With the Club World Cup still recent, many footballers don't need as much match fitness. The team will arrive with competitive rhythm and will only need to adjust details.

Xabi will use these weeks to finish evaluating the squad. There are players who still aren't clear about their roles. Others, like some youth players, could earn a spot.
The first matches
Real Madrid already knows its first official fixtures of the season. The LaLiga debut will be on Tuesday, August 19 against Osasuna, at Santiago Bernabéu, at 9:00 p.m.
After that, the team will travel to Oviedo to face the Asturian side on Sunday, August 24, also at 9:30 p.m. It will close the month with another home match: Real Madrid - Mallorca, Saturday the 30th, at 9:30 p.m.

For now, no friendlies have been announced. However, it isn't ruled out that one could be scheduled behind closed doors in Valdebebas. Everything will depend on the physical condition of the squad and the number of available players.
A different summer
It will be an unusual preseason. Shorter, more focused on internal work, no spotlights, no trips, but with maximum demands. The objective is clear: to start the season strong.
Xabi Alonso doesn't want any margin for error and Florentino knows that, with Mbappé, Bellingham, and company, there are no excuses. Madrid is already thinking about 2025-26.
