Real Madrid's Response on Xabi Alonso and the Club World Cup: 'It Would Be Illogical'

Real Madrid knows perfectly well that they need to change several things for the next season, and among these is the bench. Ancelotti seems to be much closer to stepping away from the technical direction of the white team than to remaining for the rest of his contract.  Therefore, for the Club World Cup this summer, the confirmation of whether the new coach will arrive is expected.

Many would claim that the ideal name for them is Xabi, who should arrive just before it to be able to compete in this tournament with a new coach. However, from the white board, they have a completely different idea, and there is another name on the table.  In this case, it would be Santiago Solari, as the board considers that it is not logical for Alonso to take charge of a team with players who will not be in the next season.

This completely changes the possibility of seeing him just before the Club World Cup and, therefore, directing this tournament. However, they also want to make his job easier in case of his arrival to be able to carry out the process properly.

Alonso Will Arrive Afterwards

For now, it seems that the board's decision is quite coherent with what they want to do regarding the Spanish coach.  Therefore, they want a substitute on a provisional basis, and in this, they have seen the possibility of having Solari as a coach again.

The opportunity for the Argentine is also very good, as by directing in a tournament that everyone will watch, he can provide a good perspective. However, we know perfectly well that his interest is to stay at Real Madrid, although, in any case, some opportunity could arise for him.

For now, as far as Real Madrid is concerned, it seems that this is the most logical stance and the one they want to respect for the Club World Cup.

The only thing we can do for now is wait for the decision to be made definitively and, with it, to know what the form of this new technical direction will be.
