RealMadrid TV Points to Copa Final Referee with a Video That Scares Fear

The club's official television hasn't hesitated to point out De Burgos Bengoetxea with his numerous errors

The tension over the Copa del Rey final between Real Madrid and Barcelona is already palpable. Realmadrid TV has lit the fuse. This Thursday, the official channel of the white club released a very critical video about the match referee: Ricardo de Burgos Bengoetxea.

According to Real Madrid TV, the Basque referee has never officiated important international matches. He has been international since 2018, but UEFA hasn't given him a single Champions League match in the final phase. He hasn't been in European Championships or FIFA tournaments either.

"FIFA has never counted on him. UEFA, neither. But in Spain, yes. This will already be his third final between Real Madrid and Barça, after the Super Cups of 2017 and 2023. All while he remains insignificant outside our country," the video explains.

They also compare the data: with De Burgos, Madrid wins 64% of matches. Barcelona, 81%. Realmadrid TV sees it clearly. For them, the referee is part of the trust circle of Medina Cantalejo and Clos Gómez, current heads of refereeing.

Controversial Plays That Reappear

The video compiles several plays where the white club felt wronged. The most recent, in the classic against Atlético at the Bernabéu. De Burgos, from the VAR, alerted Soto Grado of a possible penalty by Tchouameni.

"Incredible that he intervened in that play. He only showed two replays, one distant and another with players blocking. That's how two points vanished," says the video's narrator.

They also recall the Real Madrid - Espanyol. A slap to Fran García wasn't sanctioned. In the Getafe - Madrid of last season, he didn't call two clear penalties on Vinicius and Brahim, nor did he expel Getafe players after harsh tackles.

The video concludes with the controversial Sevilla - Real Madrid. De Burgos annulled two goals in nine minutes. First for Bellingham's offside. Then he stopped a dangerous counter after telling Ocampos to get up. A clear penalty by Jesús Navas on Vinicius before the break was also omitted.

Realmadrid TV heats up the final. They point out errors, statistics, and controversial decisions. They send a message: the referee will also play his match at La Cartuja.
