The former Real Madrid player spoke about Dani Ceballos's potential draft with Spain
Dani Ceballos has established himself as one of Real Madrid's most outstanding players. Following Toni Kroos's departure, the midfielder from Utrera has taken control of the club's midfield. This way, he has become a key piece in Carlo Ancelotti's scheme, practically indisputable for the Italian coach.
A clear example of his great level is that he was one of the few players, along with Valverde, who rotated in the last match to rest. His spectacular performance has positioned him as one of the main candidates to be drafted to the National Team, standing out among the most in-form players at Real Madrid.
Dani Ceballos, Back in the Spanish National Team?
The former youth player of Real Betis seemed to be out of Luis de la Fuente's Spanish National Team due to a clash with Gavi that originated in the 2023 Clásico. That altercation caused Dani Ceballos not to be drafted for the Nations League in the new coach's first major list.
However, according to Antón Meana on 'El Larguero' of Cadena SER, there is no veto by the RFEF against Ceballos. This opens the door wide for a future draft.
"Depending on whom you ask, they tell you 'there's no longer a veto' and others ask you 'what veto?'", reported Antón Meana.
"In Luis de la Fuente's first draft, there was an internal incident with Gavi. He didn't come down to a signing list at the hotel in Málaga, and that was leaked to the press. The captains of the Spanish National Team interpreted that the leak came from Ceballos and that it was to harm Gavi", he commented.
"Something that the captains have confirmed off the record and told Luis de la Fuente that 'Gavi needed to be protected.' That he had made a mistake, but he was one of their own", the journalist concluded.
Álvaro Benito's Opinion on Dani Ceballos's Return
Regarding the possible return of Dani Ceballos to the Spanish National Team, Álvaro Benito was questioned on 'El Larguero'. "Ceballos in the national team if there were a list tomorrow?", Manu Carreño asked him. "Well, yes, of course", he replied.
"For me, he's made the leap. When he's capable of playing at the level he's doing in world-class matches, well... he's ready", he explained.
"Another thing is that there are many midfielders, but well. But if you ask me, I would take him", Álvaro Benito concluded.
