Reveal Ancelotti's Plan with Mbappé for the Cup Final Due to His Ankle Injury

The Reggiolo coach will change his starting eleven again to visit La Cartuja

Real Madrid Has a Major Doubt for the Copa del Rey Final Against FC Barcelona. Despite the difficulties experienced in the current edition of the 'K.O. tournament,' Carlo Ancelotti's players have reached the final at the Sevillian stadium of La Cartuja. The player who is the subject of all debates is none other than Kylian Mbappé.

The Bondy striker left the second leg of the quarterfinals against Arsenal earlier than expected:  a clash with Declan Rice affected his right ankle. The white '9,' assisted by the merengue medical staff, had to withdraw with a slight sprain... which was later confirmed thanks to the tests he underwent at the Real Madrid Sports City.

His confirmed absence from the match against Athletic Club de Bilbao, in addition to the sanction applied for the straight red card seen at Mendizorroza, has raised a doubt. Kylian Mbappé's appearance in the final against FC Barcelona, a key match this season, remains in the air. The information published by 'Tiempo de Juego' reveals the plan devised by Carlo Ancelotti to recover one of his best footballing assets as soon as possible.

According to this sports outlet, the Reggiolo coach is seriously considering the possibility of giving Kylian Mbappé some minutes during the visit to the Coliseum. His participation in the clash against the azulna discipline would aim to fully recover him in terms of physical form and footballing sensations, thinking about the clash at La Cartuja.

It's in His Plans

Cadena COPE's program makes it clear that "he will play 100%" in the Copa del Rey final. The probabilities of Kylian Mbappé being a starter in a new Clásico this season, due to the 'K.O. tournament,' are much higher than initially thought. The merengue '9's sprain is a mild ailment, with a quick recovery since last Wednesday.

That process would have received a considerable 'boost' given the absence of the French striker in the match against Athletic Club de Bilbao. Victory in the Copa del Rey final is one of Carlo Ancelotti's major objectives this season:  it could keep him until the end of the current league campaign. That's why the Italian strategist wants to count on one of his best players, although his first season as a Madridist is not going as many expected.

While it is true that Kylian Mbappé has delivered an acceptable performance in some parts of this season,  his figures are well below what was expected last summer. The Copa del Rey final, for which Carlo Ancelotti has decided to call him up, is a new opportunity to anticipate a change in dynamics already thinking about the 25/26 season.

In this context,  the doubts about Kylian Mbappé's presence in the Copa del Rey final would be completely cleared. Barring any last-minute surprise not considered to date, Carlo Ancelotti is already thinking about that match at La Cartuja with a Kylian Mbappé who needs to prove himself with the Madridists.
