River Plate's boss compares Mastantuono to this Madrid legend: 'He has...

The vice president of Millonarios believes that he has the greatness of Alfredo Di Stéfano, the legendary Blancos figure

Franco Mastantuono's future is already sealed. The young River Plate talent will play for Real Madrid and the Argentine club has no doubts: he's ready. Matías Patanian, vice president of the Millonario, confirmed this in an interview where he made several forceful statements.

The executive highlighted the footballer's personality. "“Franco embraced River's greatness with complete naturalness. He'll do the same at Bernabéu”," he stated. Patanian knows his development closely. He believes his maturity will allow him to shine in Europe as well, no matter the stage.

Historical comparisons and Madridist legacy

What stood out the most was the direct comparison with a legendary figure in Madridism. "“River Plate and Real Madrid are genetically connected by Di Stéfano's aura. Another product of our youth academy. Mastantuono is part of that same lineage”," he said.

It wasn't the only reference to the past. He also compared the young left-footer to Beto Alonso, River's idol in the 1970s. "“I'm not saying they can be put on the same level yet, but Franco is elegant, talented, left-footed, and a winner. Like Beto. Like the greats in our history”," he pointed out.

Although River dreamed of keeping him until December, the white club has been firm. Mastantuono will join in August. Patanian accepts it with resignation: "“We would've liked to have him for the Libertadores, but we understand Madrid has other plans”."

Even so, River will receive €45 million net. The deal will be made in three payments, something possible thanks to the good relationship between clubs. "“The ties between River and Madrid have always been smooth. We're two sister institutions”," he added.

Winning mentality and firm decision

The executive didn't hesitate to praise the player: "“He has personality. He plays at the Monumental with more than 87,000 people (80,000) without his pulse trembling. He'll replicate that at Bernabéu”." He also made it clear that the player chose Real Madrid. "“Franco wanted to go there. It was his desire from the beginning”."

Now, Madrid is preparing to welcome a special footballer. A young man who's already being compared to legends. Who's arriving hungry to make history.
