Rodrygo and Florentino face to face, the Brazilian told the president: 'I'm leaving'

One of the most criticized players at Real Madrid this season has been Rodrygo Goes. The Brazilian winger, who had been key to several victories in previous seasons, didn't manage to live up to expectations during the recent campaign. Disappearing during the second half of the season, several rumors began to surface about his departure.

However, looking ahead to the Club World Cup, Rodrygo issued a warning to Florentino Pérez.  "If I don't measure up at the Club World Cup, I'll leave," were the words Rodrygo addressed to Florentino and José Ángel Sánchez. This has shown the high level of self-demand Rodrygo has in order to become a star at Real Madrid again.

Meanwhile, the club has been helping Rodrygo significantly because they know his potential. Expecting a clear improvement in his performance, the Club World Cup will be the test to determine Rodrygo Goes's future at Real Madrid.

Rodrygo's promise

Arriving at Real Madrid in 2019, Rodrygo grew to become one of the team's great stars. Improving his numbers with each season played, a major leap in quality was desired for the recently concluded campaign. At 24 years old, several clubs showed interest in acquiring his services after his poor season at Real Madrid. Manchester City, above all, once again expressed their interest in having a player who is fully appreciated by Josep Guardiola.
