Rodrygo stops Arsenal's momentum with an unexpected request, his signing cools down
Although Arsenal are interested, Rodrygo's departure from Real Madrid is still far off
A priori, Rodrygo would be getting closer to leaving Real Madrid. Everything indicates that the Brazilian forward will leave the club this summer, since both Florentino Pérez and Xabi Alonso have decided to do without him for next season. The player has accepted his situation and would already be on the transfer list.
Given this scenario, his agents have started working to find him a new destination. However, his salary demands are proving to be an obstacle for some of the interested clubs. One of the most active has been Arsenal, led by Mikel Arteta, who sees Rodrygo as an ideal option for the "gunners".
Even so, negotiations haven't progressed due to the high financial demands from the player's camp. Rodrygo would welcome joining Arsenal and moving to the Emirates, since he's very attracted by the idea of playing in the Premier League. However, the forward has requested a high salary, aiming to be among the highest-paid players in the London squad.

How much is Rodrygo Goes asking Arsenal for?
These demands have caused some caution at Arsenal, which has decided to temporarily halt negotiations due to the high expectations from the footballer's camp. Although the interest remains, the English club isn't willing to accept any financial condition, which could complicate the transfer if Rodrygo doesn't make his demands more flexible.
Rodrygo would be requesting a salary of approximately €10M net per season, a figure that Arsenal, for now, isn't willing to take on. This salary demand, combined with the high transfer fee set by Real Madrid, has led the London club to put the operation on hold.
Arsenal are far from signing Rodrygo Goes
Given these financial complications, the team led by Mikel Arteta has started to explore other alternatives in the market that are more viable both in terms of salary and overall investment. Although Rodrygo remains an interesting option, his signing would require a considerable financial effort that, for now, Arsenal isn't willing to make.

Thus, according to Jorge Picón himself, journalist for "Relevo", the signing of Rodrygo by Arsenal is further away than it seems. In fact, the reporter states that there isn't a formal offer, so the Brazilian would continue considering other options.
