Saudi Arabia Makes a Move for Luka Modric and His Renewal With Real Madrid Stalls
Saudi Arabia's money has emerged to tempt Luka Modric and lure him away from Real Madrid.
The transfer market is closed, although it continues to generate a lot of noise, something they are accustomed to at Real Madrid.
The club's leaders are focused on what they can control, as they don't want distractions for Carlo Ancelotti's squad in this final stretch of the season.
However, Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez still have many issues to solve for 2025-2026, something that goes beyond arrivals.

Real Madrid's sports officials must address the issue of contract renewals, although the most important one is Luka Modric's.
The Balkan, who is 39 years old, could be living his last months as a player for the Madrid entity.
Carlo Ancelotti Has It Clear
Carlo Ancelotti, who has been questioned about this situation, is in favor of renewing the Balkan, as he is a merengue legend.
"Modrić is a gift for soccer and he has to continue as long as he wants. What he does, he does very well. Real Madrid has been lucky to have a legend who has marked an era, and soccer has had a gift for his seriousness, quality, and professionalism. Maldini won a Champions League at 40 years old, and the two can be compared in what a footballer should be. They are fantastic examples, and it's no coincidence that they have reached this age on the field. It's partly genetics, but above all, commitment and attitude. That's the only way to reach 40 years old, as Maldini did and as Modrić will do," expressed the Italian coach in a press conference after defeating Girona.

New Pressure from Arabia
The problem that could arise is that Arabia is pressuring to convince the Balkan with their money, something explained by journalist Javier Rubiano.
"In recent days, Luka Modric has received another call from Saudi Arabia... But beware, because there's a catch. The economic proposal is significantly lower than the one presented a couple of years ago. It's important to note that, despite this, the Croatian would earn much more than at Real Madrid. However, the Balkan's stance is to renew with the whites until 2026," indicated the aforementioned communicator.
