Signs with Chelsea after Real Madrid's authorization: details of the deal

The player who can't be signed by Real Madrid due to his recent signing with Chelsea

Over the years, Real Madrid has been monitoring the progress of several young prospects. While some have managed to wear the Merengue jersey, others like Jorrel Hato have ended up moving away from the team. According to what we know at Defensa Central, the Dutch defender has already completed his medical tests with Chelsea.

Hato, now a former Ajax player, was on Real Madrid's radar for a long time. However, the club never made an offer for his services, a situation Chelsea has taken advantage of. The player has signed a 7-season contract to become one of the great young stars at Stamford Bridge.

Despite this transfer, Real Madrid has remained calm regarding its defense. The signings of Huijsen, Carreras, and Trent have strengthened very important positions for the club. In addition, if a player is needed, Xabi considers the youth academy.

The promise that won't arrive at Real Madrid

Trained in the youth academies of Sparta Rotterdam and Ajax, Jorrel Hato made the leap to the first team in 2023. A step that, despite his youth, never posed a challenge for the talented left-back. At just 19 years old, Hato managed to become one of the best players on the Dutch squad.

Playing more than 4,185 minutes during last season, Hato's importance was remarkable. The player, in addition to performing as a full-back, can also play as a center-back. This versatility makes him a very valuable player for the defense.

Despite Real Madrid's need for another center-back, Hato won't be a Merengue. Through the payment of £35.5 million, Chelsea has secured his services. Another multi-million expenditure by a club that keeps investing for the next season.

The current Merengue defense

With Huijsen, Rüdiger, Asencio, Militao, and Alaba as center-backs, Real Madrid has a solid backline. Despite certain mistakes made in the World Cup, Xabi has worked hard to fix them. Although Hato won't be a Merengue, Real Madrid has more targets to strengthen its backline.
