Siro López reveals Mbappé's path to win the Ballon d'Or: 'If the vote were held today

Siro López surprises everyone with his reasoning, and Mbappé could win the Ballon d'Or under these conditions

Kylian Mbappé's individual campaign has been outstanding, establishing himself as the top scorer for the white team even with his poor start. Amid the debate over possible Ballon d'Or winners, Siro López has revealed what the French forward's roadmap would be to win the award. The journalist explained his vision, pointing to the key months that will make the difference in the final vote.

"If the vote were held today, the two candidates would be Dembélé and Lamine Yamal," Siro stated, highlighting the great moment the wingers are having.  However, he recalled that the Ballon d'Or will be decided after July 13, a key date since there is still more to be played.

This is where Mbappé comes into play, as he could become the absolute protagonist in the summer tournaments. With what he has achieved with Real Madrid so far and what could be dominance at the national team level and the Club World Cup itself, the possibilities are open.

Mbappé is not ruled out

Siro detailed that the Club World Cup with Real Madrid and the UEFA Nations League with France will be ideal stages for the white forward to boost his candidacy.  "What Mbappé can do in those tournaments will put him at the starting line and eliminate Lamine Yamal," Siro concluded.  The statement did not go unnoticed, especially due to the growing media campaign around the young Spaniard.

The great advantage for the French forward is that his main challenges are still to come. While other candidates have already shown their cards in leagues and the Champions League itself, Mbappé will be able to shine in competitions where historically Real Madrid players have strengthened their individual chances.

The white jersey and collective titles could tip the balance in his favor. Even more so considering the weight FIFA wants to give its new tournament in the United States.

A calendar tailored to him

With the Club World Cup and the Nations League on the horizon, Mbappé will have a couple of opportunities to compete for the award. If he manages to stand out in these tournaments and leave his mark on them, the Ballon d'Or could go from being a distant goal to a tangible reality before the end of the year.
