Arbeloa's jab at Ancelotti after getting Joan Martínez back, flawless

Arbeloa knows how to handle Joan Martínez's return, something Ancelotti did not do

At Real Madrid, they've seen how injuries have been a tough burden during the past few seasons. Many players have torn their cruciate ligament, missing many months of competition. One of them was Joan Martínez, who went down during last season's preseason tour.

Ancelotti has seen how he kept losing players and they haven't been able to find a solution. On many occasions, Pintus has been blamed, but also the excess minutes Carletto gave his players. This is something Arbeloa seems to understand better, at least with Joan Martínez.

The Castilla coach hasn't wanted to take risks with his return after an entire season injured. Xabi Alonso didn't take him to the World Cup either, so he could stay training at Valdebebas. It seems the plan is working perfectly for now.

In the two friendlies the reserve team has played, Joan has already participated. Arbeloa is cautious and doesn't want to push him from the start, managing his return well.  First it was 20 minutes, and in the match against Racing de Ferrol, it went up to 30.

Joan Martínez has an important season ahead

Last summer, Joan Martínez broke through strongly at Real Madrid during preseason. He was the big sensation, until he got injured in the first friendly. It was a tough blow since he was expected to get minutes, even under Ancelotti in some matches.

Now, with Arbeloa managing his return, he needs to step up this season. Carletto was criticized for not handling it well and that there were even relapses because of that. The reserve team coach is being patient, giving him minutes little by little in the friendlies.

He needs to make up for lost ground and prove the quality we know he has. That will be Joan's mission this season, and for now, he's leaving a very good impression. He's expected to be the starting center-back at Real Madrid for a long time in the future.
