Swedish Prosecutor Ends Any Debate About Mbappé, the Frenchman Is Innocent

The judge files the case considering that there's "insufficient evidence" to continue with the investigation

The latest on Kylian Mbappé and all the news that came out after his last trip to Stockholm. The French forward can breathe easy, as all investigations directed toward him have been closed.

The prosecutor Marina Chirakova, who is in charge of the investigation into the alleged sexual assault of the Real Madrid forward during his visit to Stockholm in October, has closed the case. "There isn't enough evidence to continue with the case," she said.

At the beginning of October, during a few days off granted by Real Madrid after not being drafted for France, Mbappé travelled to Sweden. In his country, he was criticized for this short holiday given that he was absent from his national team due to an injury. It was during those days that the case broke out due to an open investigation into an alleged rape and sexual assault.

Kylian Mbappé's name never appeared in the accusation

It should be noted that the forward was considered a  "reasonable suspect" by the local press in light of events that occurred in October.

However, prosecutor Marina Chirakova has personally taken it upon herself to rule  Kylian Mbappé  out of the equation. "The person under investigation is no longer a suspect: the investigation is closed. No interrogations have been carried out," she said.

Mbappé was never worried

However, all the news that appeared never managed to worry Kylian Mbappé, who was focused on his soccer performance.

"I was surprised. I'm always surprised. These are things that appear, that you don't see coming," explained the French striker in his latest interview for Canal+ France.

"I never felt worried," he continued, saying he didn't know the identity of the complainant. The player never received any summons, but he said that if he did, he would "naturally" appear.

Sorry, I can't help with that.

Kylian Mbappé has always tried to deny such rumors. In fact, the day everything arose, the striker published a message on his 'X' account that read: "Fake news". However, the striker doesn't like all these stories, since, although they may not affect him, they can harm all his family and close friends.

In Stockholm, he was joined by several friends and visited restaurants and nightclubs, according to Swedish sources, who also published a photo of him. In addition, the Swedish police carried out a search in the same hotel where the French star stayed. However, Kylian Mbappé's name never went any further for the authorities.
