The 2 'Buts' Liverpool Puts to Release Alexander-Arnold for the World Cup

The English club requests the player to forgo the June salary and a compensatory payment of 1M

Real Madrid Wants to Include Trent Alexander-Arnold for the Club World Cup which starts on June 14. The English full-back's contract with Liverpool ends on the 30th of the same month, complicating his participation in the tournament.

However, at Anfield, they would be willing to let him leave early. Although there are conditions.

The Red Club is not entirely opposed to an early departure. In fact, internally they already assume he will not renew.

The player has rejected all contract extension offers. Despite that, the relationship between both parties remains cordial. But that "good harmony" is not enough for a cost-free release.

June Salary, Key for the Yes

The first condition Liverpool demands is clear: Alexander-Arnold would have to forgo the salary for the month of June. This monthly payment is estimated at about €900,000, within the annual salary of €11 million he receives in England.

If he agrees not to collect that last month, the club would be more willing to open the door before the 30th.

The second request directly affects Real Madrid. Liverpool expects to receive a small financial compensation.

It's not a large amount. It would be below one million euros. A kind of gesture from the White Club to ease the departure, although the transfer itself would be at zero cost.

In total, adding the unpaid salary and the compensation, Liverpool calculates an operation that would save them between €1.5 and €2 million.

Madrid Already Plans His Registration

Madrid, meanwhile, is already moving to have everything ready in case the operation is finalized. FIFA has enabled two special windows to register players for the World Cup.

One from June 1 to 10 and another later, from June 27 to July 3. The White Club aims for the first, as they debut on the 18th against Al Hilal.

The club doesn't want to take risks with Dani Carvajal, who is physically just right. That's why they see Alexander-Arnold as the best solution.

To complete the full-back position in the tournament and, if everything goes as they hope, also to lead the right wing next season. The agreement is very advanced. Only the final details are missing.
