2 Options Real Madrid Gives Ancelotti for the Right Wing Position
Florentino is clear about the solutions for a position that doesn't offer many options
Florentino Pérez returned from Arabia with a clear understanding that Real Madrid's right wing position needed reinforcement. Lucas Vázquez is having a lot of trouble containing high-level opponents. That's why they want to find solutions for the second half of the season.
The first decision made at Real Madrid is to try to transfer Alexander Arnold in January. Florentino was willing to raise his offer to Liverpool up to 30 million euros. However, it seems that it's still insufficient, and the Reds refuse to sell him despite not renewing.
This has led Florentino to present Ancelotti with 2 options for the right wing position. Arnold's transfer is postponed until next summer. This will require finishing the rest of the season with Raúl Asencio and Fede Valverde as solutions.
It's true that neither is a specific right wing, but Carletto has already tried both in that position. The club knows it's not ideal, but they don't currently consider other alternatives. The market isn't providing solutions after losing Dani Carvajal to injury.
David Alaba's return will give Lucas Vázquez some relief
It's true that Lucas Vázquez isn't performing at his best level, and Real Madrid is noticing it. However, Militão's injury has led to Tchouaméni playing as the right center-back. And that's where all the defensive problems are accumulating.
However, Ancelotti trusts in being able to recover Alaba as soon as possible, who is already training with the team. Gradually, he will gain match fitness with the aim of becoming a starter again. This will be a great defensive relief, among other things, because Rüdiger will be the right center-back.
A help for Lucas who will see how he has a great player to assist him against opponents. Even so, Ancelotti knows this is an emergency solution and will keep waiting. There could still be a last-minute surprise with Arnold.
