The 3 Signings Xabi Alonso Requests From Real Madrid: Luxury Reinforcements in 3 Positions

The coach from Tolosa has his own list of demands for the board of directors led by Florentino Pérez

The sports disappointments experienced this season have led many Madridists to reflect on the changes needed in the first team. Especially if, as many media outlets predict, Carlo Ancelotti's second stint at the helm of the white team ends definitively.

The Reggiolo coach was awaiting his possible departure to Brazil, an operation about which there are many doubts at this time. But the negotiations to succeed Ancelotti with Xabi Alonso are moving forward to the point that the current Bayer Leverkusen coach already has his first demands for signings.

According to the information published by the newspaper As, the Tolosarra coach has conveyed to Real Madrid a short list of three players deemed essential to rebuild the team. One of the most notable is Martín Zubimendi, a pivot from Real Sociedad who is highly favored by both Xabi Alonso and the occupants of the Bernabéu's noble area. The only 'but' to his signing is a release clause, set at 60 million euros, which seems expensive for the Merengue leadership.

In addition to the arrival of Martín Zubimendi, Xabi Alonso's list requests another reinforcement for the battered engine room of the first team. The retirement of Toni Kroos has highlighted the need to make signings to improve the level of play of the white squad, a goal that would be covered with Florian Wirtz.

Three Requests to Start

The incorporation of the '10' werkself is another of the signings closest to Xabi Alonso himself: after all, he has adapted to the electric playing style of the German attacking midfielder. Therefore, he would like to have his highly valued services in Santiago Bernabéu locker room, a desire in which Bayern Munich interferes by reaching a verbal agreement with the player. Likewise, a transfer exceeding 100 million euros has deterred the white executives from attempting his incorporation.

The last of the three signings that Xabi Alonso has put forward upon his arrival at the local bench of Santiago Bernabéu is Jonathan Tah, a center-back from Bayer Leverkusen. The '4' of the German squad  ends his contract in the summer of 2025, which is why he would have many chances to accompany his current coach to the capital of Spain.

Tah's arrival would occur amid a galloping crisis due to the shortage of defensive assets, a trend that has hampered the white team's competitive potential this season. Xabi Alonso seems to be fully aware of the competitive and tactical needs that Real Madrid currently has and proposes solutions to prevent those sports problems from taking root definitively.

However, it remains to be seen what reaction Xabi Alonso's triple request will leave in the Valdebebas offices. The executives led by Florentino Pérez have measured their recent moves very cautiously in the transfer market... but the critical performance of the first team is a clear call to action for the summer window of 2025.
