How Much Money Does Ancelotti Demand to Leave Real Madrid by Terminating His Contract
The Italian coach's future is increasingly confusing
Real Madrid Is Experiencing an Intense Drama Regarding Carlo Ancelotti's Future. It seems clear that the Reggiolo coach will not continue leading the first team for the next season, given that Xabi Alonso's succession is very close. But the Italian coach's future has undergone a change as unforeseen as it is complicated.
Everything seemed aligned for the transalpine strategist to become the new coach of Brazil under the sole condition, imposed by the CBF, that he would do so in June. But Real Madrid, visibly upset by those negotiations according to some sources, would have blocked the operation. Carlo Ancelotti could only join the Canarinha in August, something the South American board doesn't approve.

One of the reasons why Carlo Ancelotti has not been able to confirm his signing as the new coach of Brazil, an operation in which only the signature was missing, is his contract. The merengue coach has a bond with Real Madrid until the summer of 2026, which required the CBF to pay a release clause: Carlo Ancelotti asked to be allowed to leave.
From the Valdebebas offices, they have repeatedly refused to accept that request from the still Real Madrid coach. In case of being dismissed before finishing his contractual bond with the white club, the Reggiolo coach would have requested about four million euros as compensation. The white executives, once again, have opposed the payment of that amount of money to release the transalpine coach.
Stalemate Impossible to Resolve
Especially because they counted on the Reggiolo coach 'forgiving' the remaining year of contract with Real Madrid to leave for Brazil as quickly as possible. Nothing could be further from the truth: Carlo Ancelotti keeps his compensation request and Real Madrid doesn't change its antagonistic stance regarding that tense economic debate.
The thinking of the leaders led by Florentino Pérez is supported by the reaction of other coaches like Zinédine Zidane. It was the French coach who left Real Madrid, not long ago, 'forgiving' the remaining money of his contract to expedite his departure as the merengue entity's coach.

Although that circumstance has prevented his signing for Brazil, Carlo Ancelotti insists on his claims. Everything indicates that he will do so more emphatically, especially now that he has lost the opportunity to lead the verdeamarelo team during the 2026 United States World Cup. Those four million euros have put both Real Madrid and the Reggiolo coach in check.
Especially because negotiations with Xabi Alonso to become the new Madrid coach are advancing much faster than desired. The Spanish coach has even reportedly informed Bayer Leverkusen's players that he would leave the werkself discipline this very summer.
