The 6 Players at Risk of Suspension for Real Madrid's Return Match at the Metropolitano

Carlo Ancelotti is aware of this issue that can be a key factor in the Champions League tie.

Real Madrid will host Atlético de Madrid at Bernabéu tomorrow to play the first leg at Santiago Bernabéu. Carlo Ancelotti's team will aim to gain an advantage ahead of the return match at Metropolitano. This will take place on March 12.

The Italian coach has assured in the press room that a balanced tie is expected. He is convinced that it will be decided at the rojiblanco stronghold, but he trusts in arriving with an advantage for that meeting. This, after all, is crucial to securing the ticket to the quarterfinals.

Jude Bellingham will not play tomorrow. The Englishman will miss this match due to suspension. He received a yellow card in the return leg against Manchester City and won't be able to help his team in the first clash at Bernabéu.

Beyond the Englishman, the reigning European champion has several players on the roster who are one booking away from suspension for the return leg. Specifically, five: Rüdiger, Modrić, Camavinga, Tchouaméni, and Endrick. If any of them receive a booking, they won't be able to help their team at Metropolitano.

Even Carlo Ancelotti also risks not being able to sit on the bench. The Reggiolo coach will have to control himself with any potential protests he might make.

Hard to Think About That

The truth is that it's difficult to keep a cool head and stop to think about this issue. Especially when it's a match with so much tension and many things at stake.

However, the coaching staff is clear that it can be a factor to consider and that it could end up backfiring. Despite this, they trust that all those at risk can avoid it. The absence of any of them would be quite significant.

The Right Back

The right back is one of the few uncertainties for the starting eleven in this first leg. Fede Valverde has trained with the rest of his teammates, but it's evident that he's not at 100%. Ancelotti has already assured that he would decide on this after the session held this afternoon.
