The Athletic Warns: Real Madrid About to Snatch a Top Player from City
The Great Star Manchester City Is Close to Losing Due to Real Madrid's Strong Interest
If this season isn't being the best for Real Madrid, for Manchester City it has been much worse. With no chances of winning any title, City is struggling to secure their qualification for the next Champions League. An unthinkable situation a few years ago that has led the club to the need for a change of cycle.
Looking ahead to the next season, Manchester City will no longer have Kevin de Bruyne's presence. The player, who has been a pillar for City for a decade, will say goodbye to the club where he has won everything. Leaving a big gap in the squad, City has set their sights on Florian Wirtz as De Bruyne's future replacement.

However, with Real Madrid's interest in the Bayer Leverkusen star, City has been forced to change their target. Now setting their sights on Morgan Gibbs-White, The Athletic has reported how close Real Madrid is to signing Wirtz.
Real Madrid's Plans
At 21 years old, Florian Wirtz is one of the most talented young stars in all of Europe. His last season with Bayer Leverkusen confirmed him as a standout player for a club with which he managed to obtain two important titles. Scoring 15 goals and providing 13 assists, Wirtz has shown that he is just beginning to unleash his talent.
Facing the birth of a new star, Real Madrid has seen Wirtz as the perfect replacement for Toni Kroos. A situation quite similar to that of a Manchester City that, aware they won't be able to compete against Real Madrid, has changed their target.

This change in City highlights the fear the club has of competing for a signing against Real Madrid. While Gibbs-White, at 25 years old, has shown his talent at Nottingham Forest, it can't be compared to Wirtz's.
Another Defeat for Manchester City
After being eliminated from the Champions League against Real Madrid, Manchester City is close to losing again to the merengue club. With the market getting closer, it's evident that Florian Wirtz's next destination will be Real Madrid.
