Social Media is Burning Because of the COPE Lie with Lamine Yamal and Bellingham

False rumors have been spread about the Real Madrid player, which has had to be denied by the fans themselves

FC Barcelona player Lamine Yamal has been named the new 'Golden Boy' by Tuttosport. The winger was named the best under-21 player in European leagues.

"I'm very happy. I feel a lot of affection from the fans and any recognition like this makes me very happy. I'm looking forward to returning to the team to help them," explained the player.

Lamine Yamal was injured against CD Leganés and will be out for at least a month. The player received a blow to his right ankle and will miss the game between Barça and Atlético de Madrid.

False rumor about Jude Bellingham spreads after the 'Golden Boy'

The talented Spanish winger received an award that had already been won by Jude Bellingham a year earlier. The Real Madrid player has already won the award in 2023.

However, the problem came when the Cadena COPE announced that Lamine Yamal had won the prize, beating Jude Bellingham. "The European champion with Spain this summer beat the Englishman Jude Bellingham, who received 97% of the votes. That is, 485 of the 500 possible," they wrote.

"Lamine Yamal accumulated 488 votes out of a possible 500, beating Bellingham by three, raising the percentage to a final 97.6 points," they announced.

However, it is clear that the message shared by Cadena COPE is published with a certain malice. To begin with, Jude Bellingham already won the award in 2023 and was not competing this year. They are trying to sell that Lamine has surpassed the English player when all he has done is receive more votes in a different edition.

It is actually quite unfair to compare the votes of both players when one can't compete in the same edition as the other. Basically they are equating a competition in which the same players don't participate.

Lamine Yamal may miss the Classic

In addition to the match against Atlético de Madrid, it is also worth remembering that Barça could play in a hypothetical Spanish Super Cup final. In that case, Lamine would be a doubt, as his ankle is not in the best condition at the moment and Flick doesn't want to put him under pressure either.

"He prefers to ensure his presence for the rest of the season, rather than risking his chances against Real Madrid," explained Barça sources.
