There's already trouble: Real Madrid's first LaLiga match could be suspended

Real Madrid already knows it will debut in LaLiga against CA Osasuna at Santiago Bernabéu. However, the Spanish Footballers' Association believes the competition should postpone that first match for the Whites. In fact, the club itself requested a date change if they reached the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup.

"Only for understanding and in defense of the players' health", read the AFE statement. "From today, only for understanding, it should be postponed and stop prioritizing the industry over the players' health. This harms Real Madrid, which is part of LaLiga", they commented.

"It can start later, because it's a team that is the top representative of LaLiga and the players give value to the clubs", they added.

Afe already spoke with the captains of Real Madrid and Atlético

In recent days, AFE has already made sure to speak with the captains of Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid before the start of the Club World Cup. They agreed to delay their league debut if they reached the final stage, an option that was also conveyed to LaLiga. It's worth remembering that LaLiga starts next August 17.

The collective agreement establishes that players are entitled to 30 calendar days of vacation. Of those 30 (30), at least 21 (21) must be taken consecutively. Therefore, the players would not be complying with the agreement if they start LaLiga on August 17.

Meanwhile, AFE proposed possible dates for Real Madrid's first match on Wednesday, August 27. They also suggested playing on Wednesday, October 29, when the first round of the Copa del Rey will take place. The last option would be Wednesday, December 3, the scheduled date for the second round of the cup.

Real Madrid is already in the quarterfinals of the Club World Cup

After its victory against Juventus, Real Madrid will play the quarterfinal match on the 5th against Borussia Dortmund. If it advances, the semifinals will be played on the 8th and 9th. The hypothetical final would be on July 13.

Real Madrid would have to play the first LaLiga matchday at its stadium against Osasuna and will visit Oviedo on the second matchday, according to the drawn schedule. However, the match against the red team could be postponed.
