Thiago Pitarch takes on a new challenge at Real Madrid: he moves up to the first team

The role Thiago Pitarch could take on at Real Madrid in the event of a possible departure of a first-team member

It's well known that Xabi Alonso is a coach who has no problem giving opportunities to young players. His time at Bayer Leverkusen proved this and his current spell at Real Madrid is confirming it.  According to information from Marca, Thiago Pitarch could be Dani Ceballos's replacement in the first team.

The midfielder from Utrera has caught the attention of several clubs in these last days of the transfer window. According to what we know at Defensa Central, Real Betis has once again shown interest in signing its academy product. While Real Madrid doesn't have any offers for Ceballos yet, this could change in the coming days.

For now, Thiago Pitarch has been drafted by the first team in preparation for any situation. Despite his young age, Xabi Alonso has been impressed by his talent. The academy player, after a meteoric rise through the youth ranks, could start getting minutes with the first team.

Xabi Alonso's choice

At just 18 years old, Thiago Pitarch is one of the most promising players in Real Madrid's academy. Having previously been part of the academies at Atlético, Getafe, and Leganés, Pitarch joined Real Madrid in 2023. As a Juvenil C player, Pitarch impressed so much that he was promoted to Juvenil A just 1 year later.

His vision, ability to break lines, and great passing skills are some of his qualities. In addition, his maturity is one of his most notable characteristics, as he has the mentality of an elite player. Despite his obvious inexperience as a professional footballer, Xabi Alonso has placed his trust in him.

Despite the importance Ceballos has had at Real Madrid in the past, the player from Utrera is in a complicated situation. While he is under contract until 2027, Ceballos has the desire to play in the 2026 World Cup. A difficult dream to achieve if the Spaniard doesn't get the minutes needed to convince Luis de la Fuente.

Everything depends on Ceballos

Although Dani Ceballos made it clear in the past that he doesn't want to leave Real Madrid, this could change soon. The club isn't opposed to allowing the departure of the 29-year-old midfielder. With a value of 10 million euros according to Transfermarkt, his departure would be beneficial for Real Madrid's plans.
