Tomás Roncero gives Rodrygo one last chance, reveals the limit: 'This is football'

The Brazilian's future has a key date, the journalist has pointed it out

Manchester City have burst onto Rodrygo's future by making a move for him. Guardiola's side may have several departures in attack, and the Catalan coach insists on bringing in the Brazilian. Right now, his continuity at Real Madrid for this season is anything but certain.

However, Tomás Roncero wanted to analyze his situation and what's on his mind. "He wants to test the possibility of staying at Real Madrid, because he doesn't want to leave through the back door. After everything he achieved over 4 or 5 seasons," he said about Rodrygo.

Roncero believes the Brazilian is in a delicate moment after a poor collective and individual season. He sees it clearly: "He wants to show Xabi Alonso that he can still be the Rodrygo who captivated Bernabéu." However, he also points out a limit that could ultimately lead to his departure.

Against Tirol, he'll be able to see if he's a starter or what minutes he gets, whether they're important or just residual. Above all, in the league debut against Osasuna and then in the trip to Oviedo. If in both matches he doesn't feel important, he could push the market to the limit and leave.

Rodrygo still backs staying

It's true that, as Tomás Roncero pointed out, the league matches could greatly shape his future. However, at this moment Rodrygo still backs staying at Real Madrid. He believes he can convince Xabi Alonso and carve out a place in the rotation.

"The phrase that's in his mind is 'I don't want to leave Real Madrid'" the journalist noted. In fact, Defensa Central has been able to confirm that he hasn't informed the club of any intention to leave. Even though there were rumors about a meeting in Valdebebas to do so.

That never happened, which shows his clear intention to stay, at least, for one more season. Real Madrid made it clear to him that it would consider any offers that might come in for him. But only if the player himself informed them that he didn't want to stay another year.
