Toni Kroos Thrashes Rodri after the Ballon D'Or, the Most Deserved Award

The newspaper 'TuttoSport' has awarded the 'Golden Man' for the German midfielder's career

Anything good that happens to Toni Kroos is welcome. The former Real Madrid player has been named 'Golden Man' by Italian newspaper Tuttosport, which on Monday praised the award as a "nice way to close" his career.

The former German player was present at the gala held at the Turin Automobile Museum and left a few words of thanks. Without a doubt, Toni Kroos has deserved some more awards for his last year and for his entire career.

Toni Kroos' words at the gala

"It's a special night for me. It's wonderful to be recognized with such a prestigious award. It also means a lot to me that so many former players and legends voted for me," said the German.

"It's an honor and a very nice way to end my career," said Toni Kroos, who is missed at Real Madrid.

The 'Golden Man' award recognizes the best player over the age of 21. In the women's category, Aitana Bonmatí was the winner . In the main category, the best under-21 player in European leagues, the winners were the Spaniards Lamine Yamal and Vicky López, both from Barcelona.

Toni Kroos was essential with Real Madrid, winners of the Champions League, La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup. The German retired after the European Championship in his country this summer, where they lost in the quarter-finals to Spain. Later, at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, the player finished in ninth place in what was yet another scandal.

Toni Kroos won the award ahead of Brazilian Vinícius Jr., his former teammate at Real Madrid, and Rodri. It is worth remembering that the Spanish Manchester City player won the Ballon d'Or a few weeks ago in Paris at a rather controversial gala.

In fact, the director of ' Tuttosport ', Guido Vaciago  sent a letter to Florentino Pérez after that notorious absence from Real Madrid. Many criticized the club, but the head of the famous media outlet was in complete agreement with the decision taken.
