The Top Signing Xabi Alonso Demands for 'his' Real Madrid: Unexpected Bombshell

The experienced star who could join Real Madrid at Xabi Alonso's request

The left-back position is one that Real Madrid is looking to strengthen for the next season. Despite having Mendy and Fran García, neither has fully convinced the team to avoid signing another left-back. While the priority was Alphonso Davies, his renewal with Bayern Munich changed the priorities of the white club.

Now the team has set its sights on the experienced Spanish left-back, Alejandro Grimaldo. A special request made by Xabi Alonso, who is increasingly gaining strength to become the new Merengue coach. With Ancelotti's probable departure at the end of the current campaign, the Spaniard is looking to start building his Real Madrid.

With the player and coach coexisting at Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi is aware of how decisive Grimaldo can be. Even so, the Spaniard is not a completely secure signing due to the number of candidates the team has.

Xabi's First Signing

Doing an excellent job at Bayer Leverkusen, Xabi is established as a top-level coach. The Spaniard, who was able to lead the Germans to break a historic drought, earned the special interest of Real Madrid. However, part of the successes achieved would not have been possible without Grimaldo's experience and quality.

The 29-year-old Spanish left-back awakened his best game under the command of the Basque coach. After shining at Benfica, the player managed to consolidate with a Xabi who knows his playing style perfectly. Moreover, the way this can be maximized could yield great results for a Madrid in need of power on the flank.

Despite his past as a Barcelona youth player, the player has not shown any problem with Real Madrid's interest. While Grimaldo has the possibility of ending up wearing white, everything depends on the future that awaits Carlo Ancelotti.

The Key Departure

Normally, for a player to arrive, another's departure must take place, but in Grimaldo's case, it's different. In order for the Spaniard to join Real Madrid, Ancelotti would have to leave and make way for Xabi, who is very prepared.
