Topuria 'faces Off' with Josep Pedrerol about Mbappé and Penalties: You Don't Know...

The presenter of El Chiringuito recently interviewed Ilia Topuria on his new podcast. They talked about his profession, but also about Real Madrid and Kylian Mbappé . On that point they didn't agree.

Pedrerol began by asking him his opinion on Kylian Mbappé's insecurity in not taking the penalty against Getafe . He thought that Topuria would agree with him on that point.

"Why do you think he was insecure and why don't you think he wanted to leave some space for his partner to have a special moment?" the fighter asked him.

"What I think is that Mbappé has to enjoy himself (...) Adapt to a new team, to so much pressure... Look now, why he didn't take the penalty and the other one did. Neither you know, nor I ," continued Topuria.

"You would take the penalty. A leader who is in good condition, Cristiano Ronaldo was one and said: this is mine. I understand that someone out of insecurity doesn't take it. A leader takes the penalty. He doesn't do it out of insecurity," Pedrerol replied.

They are not clear

" Are you sure he didn't throw it out of insecurity? A guy who touches a ball every day of his life, in a match against Getafe... For me, I wouldn't even think it was out of insecurity (...) It's a team sport and sometimes you want to leave space for your teammates," said the fighter.

" You have the right to think that you can fail, because there can be a footballer who is not perfect ," Pedrerol continued, insisting on this point. But he also wanted to praise Kylian, saying that he put Madrid above himself.

"If he didn't take the shot because he wasn't sure, I would tell him to take the shot next time, because you don't care what people think," Ilia concluded. He has always prioritized his own mentality over that of others.

Trust him

What has become clear in this conversation is that Ilia Topuria has a lot of confidence in Kylian Mbappé . He has seen him win many games and score incredible goals. As a Real Madrid fan, he still believes in him.

Although the start has been bad, there's still half of the season left. there's still time to recover his best form. That would be very good for a Real Madrid that is still far from the one of the past seasons .
