The Turkish Super League can still deliver 2 surprises to Real Madrid, one very negative

Fenerbahçe and Besiktas put pressure: Alaba could leave, but the real threat is losing Asensio and weakening the defense

The transfer market hasn't closed yet in Türkiye. The Turkish Super League keeps the window open until September 12, and two of its most powerful clubs, Fenerbahçe and Besiktas, want to fish in Real Madrid.

According to Defensa Central, both teams have inquired about David Alaba's situation. The Austrian isn't going through his best moment at the white club and, despite having a contract until 2026, his future seems increasingly uncertain.

The first option: Alaba

For Real Madrid, Alaba's departure wouldn't be dramatic. The center-back has fallen in Xabi Alonso's hierarchy and his role this season is more secondary.

The club would look favorably on freeing up his spot and lightening its wage bill. In addition, they know that a contract renewal isn't planned, so leaving now would prevent him from leaving for free in 2026.

The problem is that the player doesn't want to move. Alaba is determined to fulfill his contract in the Spanish capital and has rejected the option of an immediate transfer.

The real risk: Asencio

The other surprise the Super League is preparing is much more negative. Some clubs have set their sights on Raúl Asencio, one of the young gems of the white defense.

Losing the homegrown player would indeed be a serious setback for Xabi Alonso. The player is considered a piece for the future and could have important minutes in the current season. A sudden departure would weaken a backline already short on personnel.

That's why there's concern at Madrid. The Super League has money and the ability to close quick deals. At Valdebebas, they fear that a tempting offer could arrive and complicate their planning.

The market hasn't ended yet

The interest from Fenerbahçe and Besiktas reflects the Turkish strategy of signing proven names to raise the level of their league. Alaba would be the media coup, while a young talent like Asencio would fit into a growth project.

For now, everything depends on the players' will. Alaba insists on staying and fulfilling his contract. Asencio doesn't seem willing to leave the club where he hopes to succeed.

But the market remains open and many things can happen until September 12. Real Madrid is on alert. The Turkish Super League could still deliver two very different surprises.
