UEFA will allow an extra signing during the season
The organization led by Ceferin surprises everyone with this regulatory change
UEFA "revolutionizes" soccer with a change to keep in mind during the Champions League. Specifically, it affects the group stage.
For instance, Real Madrid suffered Carvajal's serious injury lastyear in October. Meanwhile, Manchester City dealt with Rodri's injury. The old regulations only approved changes starting in February, right when the knockout rounds begin.

However, this rule change, which is already approved, will allow all teams to replace up to one outfield player. To do so, the player must have a long-term injury and always during the first phase.
UEFA explained through a statement that this measure will prevent squad lists from having to be unfortunately reduced. It also emphasizes that players are protected from work overloads.
"The adaptation guarantees that players are protected and that teams aren't harmed by prolonged injuries," said the organization led by Ceferin.
Change in the strategies
This way, these kinds of changes can bring a modification to teams' strategies. Those with large squads will be able to face the group stage with more calm and peace of mind.
This rule also benefits clubs that already struggled to juggle their squad lists. Now they're allowed to replace a footballer without having to wait until February.
Real Madrid view this news positively, since they believe it's favorable to the footballers, who are responsible for putting on a show. However, they think there's still a long way to go and Florentino isn't satisfied with this.
Debut against Marseille
The road to number 16 begins this Tuesday against Marseille at Bernabéu. Xabi Alonso's side, who for now are only thinking about the clash with Real, are eager to start a new edition of the Champions League. The draw hasn't been entirely good and in matches like this, there's no room for mistakes.
