Raúl's Unexpected Reprimand to Ancelotti After Asensio's Breakout

The Real Madrid Castilla coach talks about the leap of the Canary Islands center-back to the first team

One of the positive surprises for Real Madrid this season is Raúl Asencio. Injuries, as well as Nacho Fernández's departure as a free agent, have caused a notable shortage of players that Carlo Ancelotti has addressed with the Canarian '35'. The final stretch of the season is approaching, and given his great performance, many expect the young center-back to be an undisputed starter

But for now, the Reggiolo coach has decided to leave him out of his most recent tactical plans, perhaps anticipating the wear and tear the 21-year-old defender will face. Raúl González Blanco, coach of Real Madrid Castilla, has offered his perspective on the trajectory of the former '5' of the first reserve team in the European elite.

"Asencio is showing in every match what he is capable of doing and that he is ready for any game," says the legendary former forward and captain. Raúl González Blanco has relied on Raúl Asencio to send a very clear message to the Italian strategist, whose lack of players in certain positions still persists.

According to the Real Madrid Castilla coach, "all the youth players are ready, it depends on Carlo Ancelotti's needs" for their promotion to the first team. That comment by the transalpine coach is one of the latest to join a very memorable trend during the current soccer season.

Striking Recommendation

The Increased Prominence of La Fábrica. Real Madrid's youth players are seen as a temporary solution to the lack of players that the first team has experienced in several important positions this season. The example of Raúl Asencio in the center-back position is just one of the many additions that, according to Raúl González Blanco, could be made to Carlo Ancelotti's group.

In addition to the young Canarian '35', names like Jesús Fortea or Enzo Alves have become the most prominent in the lower Madrid categories. While it is true that Marcelo's son is still too young to be included in the first team, the promotion of the one known as the 'new Carvajal' is an outstanding task for the club.

So much so that the player himself, who came from Atlético de Madrid's youth academy, refused to renew unless he was promoted to Real Madrid Castilla. Jesús Fortea's goal is to reach the first team at all costs, a determination that could prove effective in replacing one of the most criticized players: Lucas Vázquez. The poor performance of the Galician '17' raises doubts about his future at the white club.

Also in the future of the position. Raúl González Blanco reminds Carlo Ancelotti once again that the most advanced pupils of La Fábrica are at his disposal, as has happened with Raúl Asencio himself. The Canarian '35' could pave the way for other youth players as long as Carlo Ancelotti, according to the Real Madrid Castilla coach, wishes to immediately incorporate them into the first team.
