Valverde's Gesture after Scoring against Celta Says It All: He Turns Toward the Stands

Real Madrid has secured its place in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey. Carlo Ancelotti's team defeated Celta de Vigo 5-2 in a game that was decided in extra time.

Madrid was ahead for most of the game thanks to goals from Kylian Mbappé and Vinícius Jr.However, the final moments were truly chaotic, and Celta managed to equalize the tie before Real Madrid could solve it in the additional time.

Endrick and Fede Valverde were the protagonists of the extra time. Both, thanks to their goals, ensured Real Madrid is in the draw next Monday.

 

On one hand, the Brazilian forward entered the field in the 80th minute, when the scoreboard showed a 2-0 in favor of Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti wanted to give him some minutes in a game that, in theory, was almost closed. However, Endrick became the key piece that nearly secured the pass to the quarterfinals for the Meringues.

In the second half of extra time, the young Brazilian connected an impressive shot to score his team's third goal. From there, the game went completely out of control, and Valverde, with a powerful shot that left everyone amazed, practically sealed the victory.

Finally, Endrick made his appearance again to score the fifth goal with a masterful backheel that surpassed Iván Villar, sealing the definitive victory.

Right after scoring his goal, Fede Valverde, showing he's a great captain, apologized to all the fans present in the stadium. The Uruguayan knows it's been tough days for the Madridists, so he wanted to offer some apologies after his magnificent goal.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid fans showed their clear frustration with the team after the Supercopa result. They greeted the players with some whistles and also "lashed out" at some of them during the match itself when Celta complicated the tie.
