Verbal Agreement and Says Goodbye to Real Madrid, the Right Back Won't Wear White

The Madridist club won't sign one of the players on Florentino's wish list.

Jeremie Frimpong, current player for Bayer Leverkusen, was one of the names on Real Madrid's list for the right wing. However, his potential signing has become complicated in recent hours due to the strong interest from two other European giants.

According to reports from England, Manchester City and Liverpool are emerging as the main contenders in the race to sign Jeremie Frimpong. The Dutch full-back, a key player for Bayer Leverkusen, would have an informal agreement with his club to facilitate his departure if an attractive offer arrives.

Jeremie Frimpong, a Target for the Premier League

The defender has been waiting for the opportunity to return to English soccer, having been trained in Manchester City's youth categories. At 24 years old, his name has been included in the priority list of Pep Guardiola's team. However, the future of the Spanish coach could influence the team's decisions in the transfer market.

Meanwhile, Liverpool also appears in the operation due to the possible departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid. From Anfield, they are also closely following Jeremie Frimpong, as his versatility makes him fit perfectly into Arne Slot's schemes.

Bayer, although it no longer has Jeremie Frimpong's release clause active, has agreed to listen to offers close to 40 million euros. In this case, the amount is quite accessible for both Liverpool and Manchester City.

Is There Interest from Real Madrid?

Real Madrid also has the Dutch full-back on their radar, although their priority remains Trent Alexander-Arnold. Meanwhile, Jeremie Frimpong seems more inclined to return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the white team is confident in closing the arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold as soon as possible, who would arrive completely free. The Englishman hasn't renewed his contract with Liverpool yet, and Florentino Pérez already has everything tied up for the summer of 2025.

The arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold would solve all doubts on the right flank, as Real Madrid would be signing a world-class player.
