Vinícius and Rodrygo Compete for the Achievement to Enter History

The two Madridists are fighting to make history and have an achievement within reach

Vinícius has become a global star due to his performances with Real Madrid. He has already scored in two Champions League finals and last season he was named the best in the world. This season, he has Mbappé by his side, and they are the two who attract all the attention.

However, Rodrygo has also shown he is capable of competing for all the accolades. In fact, right now the two Brazilians are direct competitors with each other. They have an achievement in their sights to make history for their country.

Currently, Neymar is the Brazilian player with the most goals in Champions League history. He leads with 43, followed by Kaká who stopped at 30 goals. But the two Madrid forwards are already starting to make their presence felt.

Vinícius is third with 28 and Rodrygo, after the one he scored against Atlético, stands at 25. In between, Rivaldo still sneaks in with 27, so the former Santos player seems likely to surpass him. And they have Neymar's record in their sights, which is not far-fetched to think they could surpass.

A Future Ahead to Keep Scoring Goals in Champions

Of the 5 top Brazilian scorers in Champions League history, only 3 are still active. Rivaldo and Kaká have already hung up their boots, so it seems difficult for them to increase their stats. The same goes for Neymar, although in his case he is still playing soccer.

But he does so in Brazil, currently playing for Santos, and a return to Europe seems very complicated. So only Vinícius and Rodrygo could continue scoring in the top continental competition. This way, they could catch up with the leader of this ranking.

Given the ease with which both find the net and their youth, it seems very feasible. This season, Vinícius already has 7 goals in Champions and is 15 behind Neymar. If he continues at this pace, he will only need two more to catch up and become number 1, if Rodrygo allows it.
