Vinícius defends Ancelotti over the draw against Ecuador: 'He hasn't had time'
The Brazilian has spoken out, and his message is a clear defense of Ancelotti
This Thursday, Ancelotti made his debut as Brazil's new head coach in an official match. He did so against Ecuador in the qualifiers for the next World Cup. However, he did so with a goalless draw that shows the big problem facing the canarinha.
It was a team that let Ecuador dominate them, locked back in their own box to defend the goal. They didn't take the initiative and didn't seem to have chances to create danger either. Lacking ideas, they're going to find it very difficult to achieve great results in this new stage.

Some have already tried to blame Carletto, who, as we said, was facing his debut as head coach. Vinícius spoke after the match and seems to be very happy with the Italian. "I'm very happy that Ancelotti is here, I've always said he's the best coach I've worked with," he confessed.
He has also come out to defend him after this goalless draw in his first match. "He hasn't had time yet to show his game plan," the Madrid forward continued. He concluded by saying that "we all have to be together because the World Cup is near and we have to be together to finish the qualifiers well."
A lot of work to do, with Vinícius as the leader
Ancelotti has a lot of work ahead, but he has one year before the World Cup arrives next summer. He has some leeway, although he shouldn't wait too long given the team's performance. They need to improve their image and find a game plan.

With his squad selection, he has already made some things clear, such as Neymar doesn't seem to be in his plans. The former Barça player wasn't drafted this time and could be part of the transition taking place. In it, Vinícius will start to take on more responsibility for the canarinha.
Right now, he's the most talented player and he has to start showing it on the field. Brazil's improvement has to come from his football in order to compete for titles again. That's something they haven't done in recent tournaments; they've been far from it.
