When and what time does Real Madrid play: Clásico schedule

The match between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will be decisive for the final outcome of LaLiga

The day of El Clásico has arrived. FC Barcelona and Real Madrid face off in a match to which Carlo Ancelotti's players arrive with the desire to close the gap in the fight for the LaLiga leadership. That "race" for the top spot offers positive prospects to the Madrid players, which can only be fulfilled if they achieve a victory in this fourth and final Clásico of the season.

Victory is mandatory given the gaps in the LaLiga standings. With a four-point difference below FC Barcelona, there are still twelve points in play. Three of those twelve points could make the difference: a Madrid victory would reduce the gap to just one point and would force Hansi Flick's players not to fail.

Real Madrid arrives with significant absences for the match in the Ciudad Condal. The six injured players who will not be on Carlo Ancelotti's list are five defenders and one midfielder, four of them with the label of key starters in major occasions. The injuries of Éder Militão, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rüdiger, David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy mean that the Reggiolo coach must once again improvise an exceptional defensive line.

There are also several players who should act with caution if they take part in this match: they are on the verge of suspension. Players like Lucas Vázquez, Aurélien Tchouaméni, Jude Bellingham, and Dani Ceballos have received four yellow cards to date. If they are booked again in this match, they would be left out of the list for the clash against Real Mallorca, on Wednesday, May 14, at Santiago Bernabéu.

The situation for FC Barcelona is not so comfortable either. The effects of the elimination in the Champions League semifinals, against Inter Milan, still hover over the Ciudad Condal. Hansi Flick is trying to lift a team that arrives with two injured players: Marc Bernal and Jules Koundé, whose absence will be significant given that he is one of the best Barcelona defenders.

FC Barcelona also has players threatened with suspension: Iñigo Martínez, Jules Koundé, Gavi, and Raphinha have received four yellow cards to date. If they receive a yellow card in this Clásico, they would be out of the clash against Espanyol, next Thursday, May 15, at the RCDE Stadium.
