When is the 2025-26 Champions draw, where to watch and what time

The draw for the new Champions edition already has a date, and here is everything you need so you don't miss it

With the season just underway and having already secured the first six points in the domestic competition, Madrid is already aiming for the top. The UEFA Champions League is the main goal for the Merengue side every campaign, and this one won't be the exception. The next draw for this prestigious tournament will take place on Thursday, August 28 at 6:00 p.m. (18:00) on Movistar+.

The Whites endured one of their worst recent seasons last year, where they left much to be desired. However, a new adventure in the European Cup begins with the draw, where we'll find out the group for the preliminary stage of the tournament. In addition, it's important to remember that, with the changes, finishing as high as possible in the standings will be vital for the team.

The draw already has a date

The best teams in Europe will be selected tomorrow starting at 6:00 p.m. (18:00), where they'll be looking to secure a spot in the next stage of the Champions. The first step will be to find out who will be in the same group and who they'll have to face. Last season, the Whites experienced many ups and downs in this preliminary stage and didn't qualify among the top eight.

This season, with the new coach and the philosophy that is intended to be established, a better performance than last campaign is expected. After this, the play-offs will be drawn on January 30, once all the direct qualifiers have been determined. Finally, on February 27, 2026, the draw for the decisive rounds will take place, from the round of 16 to the grand final.

The most important changes in this new edition establish that the higher the position, the greater the chances of playing the second leg at home. This is especially true for those who occupy the top spots in the standings, where they'll have it practically guaranteed. One of the main objectives for the Whites after learning their opponents will be precisely this, to gain more advantage.

A new campaign full of hope

Starting tomorrow, the hope of winning another European Cup begins from scratch and Real Madrid aims to win it all. This will be the first important step for Alonso's side and its new sports project, with the intention of showing that they're the kings of Europe once again.
