Xabi Alonso could Lose His Most Desired Transfer for Real Madrid

As the seasons progress, Xabi Alonso's arrival at Real Madrid is approaching. The Spanish coach, after his successes at Bayer Leverkusen, convinced the Meringue environment of his arrival; his return to Valdebebas would mark the beginning of a new era where the coach. Unfortunately, might not see the arrival of one of his great desires.

Florian Wirtz has been one of Real Madrid's main targets for several months. The high level that the German has shown at Leverkusen has established him as a major star. However, the Meringue team has faced several complications in even getting close to securing his transfer. 

In advanced talks to renew his contract, Bayern Munich has emerged as another threat. The Bavarian team, through the good relationship between Uli Hoeness and Wirtz's entourage, seeks to finalize his transfer.

The problems with Wirtz

With 18 goals and 20 assists last season, Florian Wirtz managed to unleash his potential.  The 21-year-old German was key for Bayer to conquer all local titles. Enjoying Xabi's confidence, the player reached a level that put him on the radar of several major clubs.

Real Madrid, above all, has been the team that has maintained its interest in Wirtz for a long time. Intending to continue strengthening the midfield, the team has seen Wirtz as the perfect player to achieve this.

However, the high value demanded by Leverkusen and his contract until 2027 complicate his departure. In addition, the advantage Bayern Munich has could leave Xabi without one of the players he was seeking for Real Madrid.

There's still a chance

While the operation for Wirtz has become complicated, Real Madrid still has a chance. Given the great relationship the player has with Xabi, the coach could try to convince Wirtz that his best option is to come to Valdebebas. With a promising career, Real Madrid is the ideal club for Wirtz to fully unleash his potential.
