Xabi Alonso Orders the Signing of Lunin's Replacement, First Decision if He Signs

Xabi Alonso is already thinking about his future on Real Madrid's bench

The future is already here, both for Real Madrid and for the rest of the clubs,  which explains why the 2025-2026 season is being planned.

"I can't say anything, we are in the middle of a season and all the clubs have big goals. Atlético has them, Madrid too, and I'm thinking about achieving them... As the years go by, time passes but the affection endures and that relationship is unforgettable. It's appreciated, the bond is very strong, it was a very beautiful stage as a player. Those were intense years, it was hard for us to achieve what we wanted but when we did, it will endure. I haven't prepared myself, it doesn't bother me, nor does it surprise me. I'm only thinking about Atlético, it's what I've prepared for and I have enough," expressed Xabi Alonso.

These words clearly show the strong bond that the man from Tolosa has with Real Madrid.

Additionally, the rumors about a summer arrival continue to increase, although this will depend on what happens with Carlo Ancelotti.

The Italian coach has a contract until June 2026, but the feeling is that this could be his last year on the Madrid bench.

Future Option

For now, Florentino Pérez and José Ángel Sánchez are evaluating the future and working on signings.

There are many open fronts that Real Madrid has, although one of them is Andriy Lunin.

The Ukrainian, who excelled in the Copa del Rey against Real Sociedad, could leave in the summer, as he wants to play continuously.

This makes Real Madrid keep an eye on Joan García, who is very much liked by Xabi Alonso.

The Espanyol goalkeeper is being watched by Barcelona and Arsenal, so the white club will have to move quickly.

Joan García, who was already mentioned last summer for Real Madrid, would fit into Florentino Pérez's plans.

The "perico" goalkeeper would replace Andriy Lunin and help to "Spanishize" the squad, a goal that the "merengue" team has.

For now, there have been no official contacts between the two clubs, but Espanyol is already aware of this Madrid interest.
