20M and goodbye, Vinícius rejects Real Madrid's offer
The Brazilian forward's entourage makes its opinion about the negotiations very clear
One of the most sensitive issues for Real Madrid during the past season, including the current summer transfer window, is the renewal of Vinícius Jr. The executives led by Florentino Pérez have tried to extend the current contract of the verdeamarelo "7", which ends in the summer of 2027, but without much success.
The first talks were scheduled for after his defeat in the Ballon d'Or: the player's camp made it clear that it wasn't the right time to address that matter. The pressure from Saudi Arabia, with multimillion-euro offers that have even arrived up to the summer window of 2025, led to a rapprochement that has ultimately proven to be completely fruitless.

The major difference between Vinícius Jr.'s demands and Real Madrid's proposal to certify the extension of his contract until mid-2030 lies in the salary issue. The information published by ESPN indicates that the Merengue bosses would have prepared a salary of€20 million per season, an offer that increases his currently received emoluments.
Vinícius's camp makes it clear this increase in the salary to be received by the player in his renewal is too small for a long-term deal. The extension of his contract by three years, from 2027 to 2030, would require a more substantial raise in his fees. Given this, the verdeamarelo footballer's agents have submitted a counteroffer.
There is still no agreement
The response from Fred Pena and Thássilo Soares, Vinícius's representatives and negotiators in his possible renewal with Real Madrid, is aimed at accepting that €20 million. However, they understand that the Merengue club's offer should act only as a base salary, not as his entire compensation.
That's why they've added multiple bonuses and other incentives, always based on the sporting performance of the São Gonçalo striker, which would ultimately raise his salary up to€30 million. The main goal would be to match the Brazilian footballer's fees with those of his teammate Kylian Mbappé.

From the Valdebebas offices, they don't seem willing to accept that counteroffer presented by Vinícius's football circle. Faced with a new and imminent breakdown in negotiations for this renewal, the South American player has made a very specific decision: to focus on improving his sporting performance, relying on Xabi Alonso.
The executives led by Florentino Pérez aren't willing to modify their offer. One of the reasons for that firm decision is the poor performance shown by the Madrid "7" during the 24/25 season. A significant improvement in his performance might unlock the situation in the future, perhaps leading to the emergence of a middle ground that satisfies the claims of both parties.
