Offer of €30M for Fran García: Real Madrid responds

The stance Real Madrid has taken regarding Fran García's possible departure this transfer window

Astonishing Xabi Alonso with his performance in the Club World Cup, everything indicated that Fran García would be its starting left-back. However, with the signing of Carreras, Real Madrid has changed its mind. Although the player from La Mancha may remain at the club, it now has, according to what we know at Defensa Central, a value of €30 million.

The value is completely fixed and non-negotiable, with Real Madrid keeping firm on this figure. Although the team has made it clear that Fran is not for sale, this value shows that it wouldn't refuse a sale either. For now, with a few weeks left before the end of the transfer window, no club has inquired about Fran García.

However, Real Madrid knows that this is only a matter of time given the great World Cup played by the left-back. Despite having earned Xabi's trust, the club doesn't have room for three left-backs.  With Mendy keeping his place at the club and Carreras set to be the starter, a departure wouldn't be a bad option for Fran.

Fran García's farewell

At just 26 years old, Fran García may not play next season with Real Madrid. A homegrown player, Fran has shown flashes of his talent since his return to the team in 2023. Despite his inconsistent performance during last season, this changed after Xabi Alonso's arrival.

The coach himself has given the player confidence that, despite Carreras's presence, he will remain important. The demanding season that Real Madrid will play forces the club to rotate its squad. Even so, with the increased value Fran has gained, his departure would be a good move.

€30 million ($32.6 million) is a more than adequate value for a player of Fran's talent. Although the left-back remains focused on training, the Premier League and Serie A have already shown interest in the player from La Mancha. Two destinations where, although not at Real Madrid's level, are known for their high level of demand.

Doubts about Fran

With just a few days left before the start of the season, Fran García will remain a Real Madrid player. Xabi Alonso still trusts the left-back's abilities. However, if a club agrees to pay the established €30 million ($32.6 million), Real Madrid won't stop this move.
