93 Millions to Convince Alexander-Arnold: Liverpool Gives It All to Keep Him

The latest renewal proposal sent from Merseyside is a true statement of intention

One of the names causing the most stir in the transfer market is Trent Alexander-Arnold. It's no wonder, since he's a world-class elite player whose contract with Liverpool ends in just six months. There doesn't seem to be much prospect of his renewal with this big six team in the Premier League.

Especially with Real Madrid's interest in the mix. The leaders headed by Florentino, aware of the complicated situation on the right flank of the first team, want to have Liverpool's current '66' as soon as possible.

While it's true that the information published in Spain and England gives reasons for optimism, the Valdebebas offices are clear that nothing has been achieved. There's a lot of work to be done regarding the player. He might feel attached to the club where he was an academy player and with which he reached the top of European soccer.

To make him see that his time at Anfield has passed, the offer presented by Madrid appeals to his confessed desire to "build a legacy". The player confessed that he'd like to be remembered as the best in his position, something he could only achieve by wearing the white jersey.

Two Different Paths

Those intangibles offered by Real Madrid would play in favor of the white candidacy when presenting a contract offer. Because the white club will always be at a disadvantage against a league where state clubs and teams controlled by large private fortunes predominate... like Liverpool itself, now in the hands of the Fenway Sports Group.

Only in this way would it be possible for the renewal offer to have reached Trent Alexander-Arnold's agents. The newspaper The Mirror reveals that Liverpool would have put a total of 93 million euros on the table to retain the right-back beyond 2025. His new contract would be signed for five years.

If Trent Alexander-Arnold signs that agreement, Real Madrid's interest would vanish never to return. Not only because he renewed when he had the option to sign immediately with the white club. Also because, by the time he becomes a free agent again, the English player will be 31 years old.

That age doesn't fit the profile that the white executives are currently looking for to complete the generational change. The sports management's goal is players who can provide quality and longevity in equal parts, something Alexander-Arnold could only offer in the 2025 summer.
