Brazil and Spain face off to host the next FIFA Club World Cup

The battle between Spain and Brazil to host the next FIFA Club World Cup in 2029 has just begun. In recent hours, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CFB) has submitted its bid to host the competition. This decision completely clashes with the intentions of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

According to the rules, the Club World Cup should be played in the place that hosts the World Cup the following year. In this case, the new club competition should be held in Spain, Morocco, and Portugal. However, Brazil's last-minute appearance has caused concern within the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).

The 2029 Club World Cup could be played in Brazil

The president of the CFB met a few days ago with Gianni Infantino and his secretary Mattias Grafström to present the idea to them.

According to Samir Xaud's own words to "O Globo", the Club World Cup could be held in Brazil. "It all started with an introductory talk. I spoke about my goals as head of the CBF and said we want to get closer to FIFA", he revealed.

"It's totally possible. I praised the event and the level of Brazilian clubs and, finally, I offered the country to host the next World Cup", added Samir Xaud.

Brazil intends to prevail over Spain in the organization of the Club World Cup

Although this is not yet an official bid, the CFB considers this gesture a formal demonstration of its great interest in hosting the World Cup.

It is true that, for now, Brazilian soccer is giving a real lesson in play and results in this tournament to major teams from Europe. Paris Saint-Germain, current Champions League champion, lost its match against Botafogo (0-1). Meanwhile, Flamengo prevailed with great authority over Chelsea (3-1).
