Rectifying is wise, Tomás Roncero asks Florentino to sign this star

The latest request from the deputy director of AS newspaper to Real Madrid's President for the transfer market

Last Wednesday, against Al-Hilal, Real Madrid once again showed certain shortcomings when it came to creating play. Xabi Alonso, who has barely had a week to plan for the Club World Cup, still hasn't been able to find the tool that will change this dynamic in the Madrid team.

At this point, Real Madrid fans still remember Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. In fact, the Croatian midfielder is still with the team in United States, but it will be his last tournament with the club. Once the Club World Cup ends, the Croatian will begin another footballing adventure so he can arrive in top form for the 2026 World Cup.

However, some Madridists are wondering if there might be a chance for Luka Modric to play one more season in white. Even if it's not possible, many insist that Florentino Pérez could make one last offer to one of the club's greatest legends.

Tomás Roncero's request to Florentino Pérez about Luka Modric

In recent hours, Tomás Roncero published an opinion piece in the newspaper AS asking for Luka Modric to stay. "First of all, I admit that everything I'm about to write now is a science fiction movie. Unfortunately for me, and for many Madridists who think like I do, this won't be fixed anymore", the journalist began.

"Luka Modric should've and deserved to have stayed one more season at Real Madrid. It's not a fit of nostalgia, it's not a romantic return to that glorious past that will hardly come back. It's a purely footballing analysis", Tomás Roncero emphasized.

"This is very simple. When Modric is on the field, Madrid plays better soccer. That's irrefutable...", he added.

"With Modric, that problem would've been alleviated at least in the second halves. No one gets cheered in the stadiums on a whim. (...) Luka, what a shame it isn't possible to go back on your farewell...", Tomás Roncero explained in his article.

The truth is that Tomás isn't the only Madridist asking Florentino Pérez for one more year of Luka Modric football. Many fans are as well. It would also be important to know Xabi Alonso's accurate opinion on this matter...
