Almost 4 Months Since His Injury and Carvajal Makes an Unexpected Promise: 'Zero...'

Leganés's '2' has dedicated himself entirely to fully recovering from his injury

One of the bad news Real Madrid has received this season is the injury that continues to affect Dani Carvajal. The Spanish player, a right winger, suffered a triple tear in his right knee during the game against Villarreal.  Something that sidelined him for the rest of the current season.

Aware of the importance he holds in Carlo Ancelotti's tactical plans, the player has decided to recover as soon as possible. The white club's medical services have repeatedly expressed their surprise at the progress the Madrid defender has been making over these four months.

Carvajal himself seems to have left behind any walking aids, showing that the first and most difficult part of his full recovery has definitely ended. However, a return to full competitive rhythm lies ahead, which many view with some reservations, as it could take much longer than current projections suggest.

Regardless, the right winger has no doubt: "I feel like an animal! My recovery is going well, I'll be back at my best". Carvajal's determination to return and reclaim his place as the world's best right winger is impossible to hide. The player himself has "zero doubts" that he will resume his career right where he left off.

They are still waiting for him

Such a declaration of intent is much more important than it seems for Real Madrid. Not only because it is a direct update on the process one of their best players is going through. But also because it shows that Carvajal has worked on the mental aspect that comes with such a long injury as the one he's suffering.

His mental strength has more than withstood the hard blow of not being able to continue playing in his 'second youth'. Real Madrid, however, hasn't abandoned him. Because in addition to closely monitoring the progress of his injury, they made a very important gesture that everyone applauded: they renewed him until the summer of 2026.

There were certain doubts about when that announcement would be made, but it came when no one expected it. A day after the severity of his injury was confirmed, Madrid made it official that Carvajal will remain at the club for another season.

The right-back knows he is supported by his club, a circumstance that encourages him to progress as quickly as possible in his recovery. The possible arrival of Trent Alexander-Arnold to the white locker room this very summer doesn't change the plans of the board. As both full-backs will have to compete for the undisputed starting position.
