Ancelotti, Firm with Vinícius after Yellow Card's Controversy in Vallecas: I Want...

Reggiolo's coach has been decisive with his best player

Real Madrid is already in full holiday break after the brilliant victory against Sevilla at Santiago Bernabéu. Although they couldn't leave as the league leader during this part of the season, there's time to correct the course in the first 2025 game.

Regardless, the first days of this holidays' "break" mean exactly that for Real Madrid players. That's how Carlo Ancelotti, a defender of mid-season vacations, wants it... as long as it's appropriate.

Because Vinícius was left out of the game against Sevilla, the last of 2024, due to the accumulation of yellow cards. The Reggiolo coach decided to give two more days of vacation to the Brazilian '7', making his rest time start after the Intercontinental Cup.

"I want you to go on vacation and disconnect. I need you at your best from January," the Italian coach has requested. Vinícius seems to be following his advice to the letter, as he's already been seen in the United States enjoying an NBA game.

Fundamental strategy

This strategy by Ancelotti, revealed by the newspaper MARCA, is the only reason Vinícius has permission to leave the Spanish capital and engage in any activity. It's his free time, and he's making the most of it as he sees fit. The head of the coaching staff, however, has set the return date.

Because the holidays that Real Madrid's coach has given to Vinícius and his teammates don't cover the entire holiday break. On December 30th, they must return to training, extending that work at the Valdebebas Sports City on New Year's Eve, preparing for the first 2025 game.

The match against Valencia at Mestalla, postponed due to the DANA last October on the Levantine coast, is the first commitment. More than three points are at stake, as the Valencian entity seeks to get out of the relegation zone as quickly and effectively as possible.

At the same time, Carlo Ancelotti's pupils want to take the three points from their visit to Mestalla to become league leaders. It's that "one less" match that gives them the chance to surpass Atlético de Madrid in points, currently the competition leader.
