Ancelotti is Obsessed and Looking for Solutions, Inda Confirms Real Madrid's Plan

The Italian coach is clear that the success of this season depends on improving defensive performance

Real Madrid's defense is Carlo Ancelotti's main concern. After the victory against Salzburg, the Italian made clear his obsession with improving this aspect.

The absences of Carvajal and Militão for the entire season are an evident problem. But Ancelotti insists that defending is the task of the entire team.

In a press conference, Ancelotti was blunt: "It's a problem of concentration, sacrifice, and commitment. Teams that defend well win." According to the coach, the success of his two recent Champions League titles with Real Madrid was based on a solid defensive block.

A clear example was the second leg of the quarter-finals against Manchester City at the Etihad. A defensive exercise that allowed the team to stay alive in the Champions League.

Current problems

This season, Real Madrid hasn't managed to find that defensive solidity. Ancelotti assures that offensively the team is at a great level, especially with the addition of Mbappé. However, for him, the key to success lies in collective defensive work.

"We must always be positioned, work together, and have the same mindset," he explained. For Ancelotti, it's not a problem of individual quality, but of collective commitment.

Alaba, key to the solution

The return of David Alaba is essential to improving the defense. Ancelotti commented: "He's very close to starting. It will depend on how he feels."

Alaba brings experience, quality, and tactical rigor. After weeks in which Rüdiger has been the only available center-back, his return to the line-up will be an important reinforcement.

Ancelotti and his coaching staff are using their time at Valdebebas to the fullest to correct defensive errors. Although the schedule is tight, the Italian coach knows that tactical work is key to regaining the team's solidity.

Real Madrid has already shown in the past that, with a good defensive block, it can achieve great accomplishments. Now, Ancelotti seeks to repeat that formula and return the team to its best level.
