Ancelotti Points to an Unexpected Player After Koundé's Goal: 'It Was Supposed to...'
The Real Madrid coach analyzed the play that led to FC Barcelona's third goal
Tough defeat in overtime for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final. After a great second half, the Whites managed to come back from Pedri's initial goal, thanks to a free-kick goal by Mbappé.
Later, Tchouaméni made it 1-2 with a great header. However, Ferran Torres equalized in the 84th minute, forcing overtime, where Koundé decided the match in the 116th minute with a shot from the edge of the box. The goal action came after a mistake by Brahim Díaz, who lost sight of the ball after a risky pass from Modric.

A Mistake Decided Overtime and the Final
Both teams were very tired going into overtime, where few chances were created during the first half. In the second half, Real Madrid came close to scoring with a dangerous cross from Arda Güler. However, three minutes later, Koundé sealed the final with a powerful shot from the edge of the box.
One of the most criticized players was Brahim Díaz, who made a serious mistake in the play leading to the blaugrana goal. The Moroccan international, who came on for Vinícius at the end of the ninety minutes, did not have his best night.
Carlo Ancelotti's Words on Brahim Díaz's Mistake
After the match, Carlo Ancelotti spoke about what happened on the field. The Real Madrid coach was asked about Brahim Díaz's mistake, and his response was quite clear.
"Brahim thought Modric had played the ball deep, but it was supposed to go to his feet. Sometimes it happens", explained Carlo Ancelotti.

"Hurt by not lifting the Cup. But nothing to reproach. The match we had to play, we played", he added when asked about the match.
Finally, Carlo Ancelotti did not want to respond to anything related to the referees and made it clear that Mbappé was not ready to play the entire match. "He came in very well, scored the equalizer, had many opportunities. He couldn't last the 90 minutes, so that's why I preferred to bring him on in the second half", he concluded.
